Alright y’all it’s time to get really real. I had kind of been feeling like I had this whole pregnancy thing figured out — I managed to escape the first trimester with close no morning sickness and the second trimester was a dream world filled with purchasing little girl clothes and feeling her first sweet kicks. I was gliding through life on a cloud. People who had been there saw my smug ass and warned me I’d hate the third trimester, but I thought to myself “Nah, I got this!”
Well, I am here to admit it…I was wrong. I am still really fortunate, I read the scary symptoms some women battle in the last trimester and (knock on wood) I seem to be escaping without most of them, but I gotta say…this ain’t comfy no mo’! My tummy is bursting at the seams and I am not sure how she’ll find room to grow in these last 6.5 weeks! I am still overall enjoying pregnancy, but if I found out tomorrow that pregnancy is actually only a 34 week endeavor and not 40, I wouldn’t be upset. Luckily I can always count on fashion to help me through.
My entire pregnancy I have been looking for pieces I can take from casual weekend, to workday chic, to a night on the town with my fella (ahem, for me town means a trip to In N Out, but let’s pretend I am fancy, k?). The thing is for pregnancy I didn’t want to invest in an entire new wardrobe, just key pieces I could dress up or down. This wasn’t quite as easy as I’d hoped, most maternity wear is, well…really ugly. And then like magic I finally found Isabella Oliver. They are nothing but great, high quality pieces you can wear throughout your entire pregnancy, dress up or down, and wear forever. I love that this dress is pretty, stretchy, oh so-soft and cozy, but also is enough of a staple piece that I know I’ll be able to wear it again my next pregnancy no matter what the trends are at that time. I also love these pretty raspberry color for spring…just the little pop of color I needed to feel like myself again! I paired it with a denim jacket for our weekend errands this past Sunday and threw on my favorite new sandals from Lulus. Another change for me sartorially are my shoes — always a sleek heels girl I am opening myself up to the possibility of flats. These are comfy, easy, and a little bit boho. I think they’ll be great when the nugget arrives, because truth be told…I am enjoying this whole flats things more than I thought and I am not convinced I’ll be pushing that stroller in heels 😉
